Dan Foster, a popular Radio presenter and one of the top guys behind Inspiration FM,has been deported from Nigeria. The news broke last weekend and it was confirmed on Monday and it was also reported in today's edition of Encomium magazine.
http://nigeriafilms.com gathered that the American who was recruited from the United States of America by the management of Cool FM got more than he bargained in the hands of the men of the immigration who refused all to allow him stay a day further in Nigeria last Friday. The deportation of Dan Foster was allegedly facilitated by his Cool FM, his former employer.Cool Fm did not find the way Dan left the company to join Inspiration Fm owned by Erastus Akingbola the Vice Chairman of Intercontinental Bank Plc.The company vowed that they would have him deported from Nigeria because in the first place he got his work permit through them and his stay permit has expired.
Dan's excuse that he is got married to a Nigeria and that they even have an issue together did not hold water as Immigration officials insist that he should go back to America and them re-apply to come back to Nigeria in the proper way.

Wonderful!Nigeria trying to follow protocol?Marriage and children usually help pple to get permit to stay in a country ;well we have our own way of doing things but sometimes wrongly.Poor Dan he is caught in the web of petty jealousy and could not get a lawyer in good time.

let him follow the normal protocol, there is no partiallity no mater whom u are should be apply, if its the immigration officers of usa and other countries, they will first put you at immgration detention camps[ prison ] before they wil get u deported. he knows the law as this is good for nigeria rebranding projects.

The protocol is biased and questionable. It was instigated by jealousy if not the immigration officials would have known nothing of Dan Foster. This shows there are laxities in the Nigerian system.Don Foster also made a mistake. He would have rectified is residency/work permit all these while .

You copied Niyi Tabiti's story on Dan Foster without giving him any credit. We all know that the internet is not regulated but try and add names and not plagiarise. This website is too much for that.

I like Dan Foster and he's great at what he does but if his visa is expired, then he needs to get it renewed period!
If you are a Nigerian or whoever trying to get into the UK or US with an expired visa, you will be deported in a flash so this is really not about cool fm.

maybe he was a role model, but i think that it is unbecoming for him to have an expired permit and not renew and give being married to a Nigerian as an excuse... totally unacceptable attitude for a role model! Besides this story may be soo false!

That is what a lot of Nigerians do in the US - marry an American with the intention of staying even after their visa or permit expires. Give the man a break.

I think we all dont have the full gist, i dont believe dan Foster just folded his arms awaiting deportation, you know the Nigerian Beaurocracy, maybe they were asking for 'egunje' to speed up his stay and cool FM gave immigration much more 'egunje' to slow down the process, hence his deportation! never mind the slight set back he shall be back soon fired up and ready to go!

Nigeria immigration did the right thing. protocol and laws must be ensured, observed and followed. This is part of rebranding Nigeria.Dan,can go back and reapply, since he is married to a Nigerian. This has nothing to do with petty jealousy.Good luck to him has he sojourn to Nigeria again.

the right question is who is right or wrong, is it Dan or nigerian immigration authority, we all knw that if you are living in a foreign land with out proper documentation could lead to your deportation. so lets' not put sentiment here, we need to do the right thing.

This is very nice move from the nigeria immigration service. Everybody no matter who ever he/she has to behave him or herself in a country.. i really supported what the nigeria immigration did to dan. he should subject himself to the rules and regulation of nigeria authority. Nobody is above the law. go to america and see the way they screen holders of nigeria passport..

Never hear about Dan's deportation until now. There are a lot of other people illegally residing in Nigeria and conducting activities that and not so good for this country - with the knowledge and conivance of immigration service - yet are left off the hook. Where was the immigration service when the Vasvani or Aswani brothers were evading tax? Dan is a Nigerian and cannot be 'deported' back to America. He is an asset, we need him back to this country.

as immigration officers there is no way for us to know which expatriate is evading tax or not,not until we get a report from the appropriate authority, then we swing into action.this is applicable to other countries too.

Elsewhere, one can obtain citizenship by birth, marriage, nationaliation and etc. I wonder which of the processes works in Nigeria. If it works by marriage, then it's a total shame that Dan had to be "deported". The lawyers, sorry, God please help us!!!

I think before people open their mouth to make comment they need to seek proper knowledge to avoid making unwittful comments. Nigeria is part of the global community which has standard laws for residency as regards to foreigners. In most part of this community, you can upgrade your status as a foreigner regardless of which status brought you in. People need to put themselves in the shoe of the child whose father was deported if he was truly deported.
