What is happening now is a situation where someone or groups use the name as a disguise or platform to execute their hidden agenda. The initial boko harams were stark illiterates that have only their faith and loyalty to their leaders f*****hly and ignorantly, without training and depend on simple weapons.This was ascertained by the police themselves by showing the seized weapons after the were defeated. To avert war, the North can still get a share of the oil money as they are getting it already, so I think it will be a VERY peaceful separation.

I really dont understand y some people are against the division of nigeria.this is a country that in the first place never agreed to be one.we dont have the same culture,language,religion etc.

If the world especially the US and the UK mediate in the splitting of Nigeria and such agreement was reached, there's no way the South / North can breach it.
We have international court and the last time I checked, Nigeria handed over Bakassi to Cameroon peacefully.

I strongly believe that our problem as a nation was caused by the British thru their "unholy" wedding and welding of the northern and southern regions. The north and the south are COMPLETELY different from each other. The major component nations in Nigeria want succession but it was only the Igbos that were bold and brave enough to fight for what they wanted.

The south (west, south and east) will definitely fair very well if/when Nigeria divides. The north will soon go the way of Niger and Mali, Sudan etc.

Nigeria can split no doubt aslong as the whole middle belt comes along with yorubas are in kwara and kogi while other progressive ethnic groups are in the middle belt also -tiv, igala etc as well.

i don't trust yorubas because they are cowards. minorities of the north are not reliable much unless they are sure of peaceful separation. only the igbo can lead out of this mess, but we must secure american support first.

nigeria as a nation will be better off divided.just the way it was before the amalgamation.i've tried to keep an open mind and look at it from all angles but i have to say the north really doesn't contribute in anyway to the good of the country.the majority of the resources are on the south side.a major portion of the literate class come from the south side.so it still amazes me that a majorly illiterate and extremist minority hold the high places in power.As far as i'm concerned it is just plain wrong

the south can stand strong without the north but i cannot say the same for the north.if the yorubas had worked in hand with the igbos during the civil war i think things might have worked out better.

We have never been one, we are not one, so why the craze for 'one Nigeria'?

Folks a break up must not be violent, it does not mean war.Those who want break up can simply take there case to the UN and make them see reasons. and they will be protected. The Muslims in Southern Nigeria do not want Sharia and are not seeking to dominate others with their religion and neither are they being dominated. So we are happy to live with them.
Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, Adamawa can join the south if they so wish.
