The wedding of top Nigerian actress, Khadijat Funke Almaroof Oloyede formerly known as Funke Akindele may have been concluded but it would for a long time remain in the memory of many. With some people and media still in shock at the sudden change of venue, more reactions have cropped up. Since the controversies arose due to her choice of love, the actress has kept mum on the issue. Her twitter account, which Funke has always made use of was silent, especially on the wedding controversies. Her marriage to an Alhaji, while she is reported to be a 'born again' christian was part of the many controversies. This was further heated up when some got to know that she and her mother are devoted members of Pastor D.K Olukoya's MFM church. Also was the controversy of her settling down as a second wife of Almaroof; her husband. At the early hours of today, May 27, Funke opened up to a fan of hers. Funke Akindele has made her bed , she will lie on it! Leave her, she will see what she has done. I feel very sorry for Funke because right now , just like I did many years ago, she feels she is on cloud 9 with this man , but one day , she will look back and regret. saying " had I known , had i listened to warnings!" He did that and then the next year , he married the daughter of a very prominent muslim family in Ibadan and she ,her family and my husband , despite my refusal , insisted that he must bring her into our big house , because there was enough room for many wives there!. When I protested , his family the girl's family and their friends started laughing at me , calling me "selfish and wicked woman , who doesn't want to share her husband!" My husband , his family and his girlfriends made it very clear to me that " this is islam and our life is all about polygamy, take it or leave it!. Anyway, it's all signs of poverty and idleness. What is wrong with Funke making a choice of who she wants to marry. It's her life and she's mature enough to know what is good for her. Futhermore, I belive Funke now knows that ISLAM is the only religion acceptable by the ALMIGHTY GOD no matter all the propaganda, hatred and hostility against it as displayed by most people who have commented on this hiterto personal issue.
