Just when Isabella Ayuk won the 2012 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) beauty pageant, controversies arose about her true age.
Some alleged that Isabella was over aged and not 26 she claimed to be. Now, an e-mail leaked to
Nigeriafilms.com which seems to expose the whole issue.
In a phone conversation with a Silverbird representative, Mr Alozie, he told
Nigeriafilms.com that Isabella is still the winner of MBGN and as such, still weras the crown.
He said that Isabella would only not be at the Miss World contest holding in China in August 2012.
Asked to comment on the purported leaked statement from Gay Bruce on the issue, he claimed an impostor may have written it.
Commenting on why Isabella would not be representing Nigeria at the Miss World Beauty pageant, Alozie said Isabella would not be going to the pageant due to her personal reasons.
On what the personal reasons are, he said Isabella's programme for the year would not rhyme with when the pageant would hold in August. He claimed that Isabella would only be free to attend the Miss Universe contest later in the year, which she would now represent Nigeria in.
Below is a copy of the leaked e-mail;
"No doubt corruption is now a way of life in Nigeria and as such you find corrupt practice in anything we do in Nigeria.
"Few months, when I raised the alarm that Isabella Ayuk, the lady who won the crown of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) is more than 26years which she claims she is, many felt I was Blackmailing her!
"I knew this because her younger sister who was my classmate in secondary school is now 27years old.
"Today the truth has been told which the organisers of the MBGN, the Bruce family knew even before she contested!
"But instead, favoured her to be the winner because Isabella is dating Hon Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Abuja and she also warms the bed of a big time businessman Henry Imasekha, a very close friend of James Ibori.
"Today she has been disqualified from contesting in the Miss World Pageant due to age factor which she lied about and as such the first Runner up Diamete Charles will now represent Nigeria.
"My question is what Kind of country do we live in? Even in the pageant industry there's corruption!.
"The Bruce family have now disgraced themselves and Nigeria before the entire world." Below is the purported statement from Silverbird, which has been denied;

"As we celebrate our 25th anniversary in the world of beauty pageantry, it is our wish not to only raise the bar but replicate the groundbreaking records achieved by Agbani Darego as the first Black Africa's Miss World 2001 as well as some past queens who have achieved remarkable results at some renowned international pageants in the recent past.

About 26 Igbo Youth groups met in Enugu on Monday and warned northern leaders to intervene in the crises in the North by calling on Boko Haram to order.
The convener of the meeting and President of the Igbo Youth Movement, Mr. Elliot Uko, told our correspondent that last Sunday's bomb attacks should be the last on churches and Igbo settlements in the North.
The IYM President said the Sultan of Sokoto, emirs, governors, elders and other political leaders in the North must show leadership by taking charge and stopping the killings and destructions targeted at Christian.
Uko said, “We decided to inform the Sultan of Sokoto and all the emirs that their reaction to the attacks on Christian places of worship in Northern Nigeria will decide whether Nigeria will survive or not.
“The continuous argument that they don't know who those Boko Haram boys are, and the argument that poverty and hunger are responsible for the killings can no longer be accepted.
“Any other attack on Christian places of worship in which Igbo lives are lost in lead to a situation where nobody can guarantee the safety of northerners in Eastern Nigeria any more.”
Uko confirmed that Sunday's attacks on churches in Zaria and Kaduna Uko claimed the lives of about six Igbo.
He said, “And we are talking to the Sultan, emirs and politicians from the north, they are the ones we are addressing, that we can no longer guarantee the safety of northerners anywhere in Nigeria.
“If the people, who have decided to provoke retaliation are committed towards the agenda, we will have no other choice; if their leaders fold their arms and do nothing, if their leaders tell us they cannot call them to order, we will have no choice

If you want to retain the integrity of your pageant, you would do the right thing and dethrone Isabella right now, and allow the true winner Damiete to take over. There is more than enough evidence to prove that Isabella is too old (starting with that picture), so what's the problem? We also know for a fact that she was a contestant at Miss Nigeria 2004, and at the time she was in her early twenties, which means that she is definately old. A pageant queen is supposed to be an example - what example is she setting by being a liar?
