I hail you sha.....Look, Jackie's way of dressing and make-up are her trademark...That is her identity and to hell with anyone who thinks otherwise...Elvis Presley of blessed memory had a weird hair-look and c***y country-side jackets but everyone loved him anyways and honey, tell christina Aguilera and Madona to stop wearing them bloody-red lipsticks...tell Angelina Jolie or Nicole Kidman to put on some flesh (weight)...Every star has an identifiable brand and Ray Fierce, Jackie ain't no different..Get used to it...n besides, I will defend her cos I am a Ghanaian, catch my drift? LOL
Jona the analyst | 4/30/2010 1:58:06 PM |
No Jona, the only drift i caught is your unpaid defence for jackie appiah, its totally understood that as a journalist, gossip makes your day and puts money in your pocket but how does defending a random ghanaian actress pay you ??? Anyways thanks for the analysis, good or bad i ll' have to get used to looking at jackie clown (with the big extensions) as her trademark. lol lol jo-jo

The U.S. Embassy Accra now receives as many as 15 requests per week from Americans all over the US who have lost anywhere from $1,000 to over $20,000 sending money to a fiancé, girlfriend, boyfriend or just a friend in Ghana who they met over the Internet.
Dating websites are very popular in the U.S. offering Americans the opportunity to meet other singles. However, the anonymity of the site allows criminals in Ghana to take advantage of unsuspecting American singles by forging fraudulent relationships and attempting to get money out of them. The majority of Americans who start an online relationship with a Ghanaian originally think they are corresponding with someone in the United States . Americans meet Ghanaians on all of the major dating websites and many of the more specialized chat rooms. Only after a relationship is formed does the correspondent inform the American that they are from Ghana . From the Daily international Institute of Journalism blog of March 13th , 2009
Ghanaian youths are gaining notoriety for the country in connection with internet scams. The Accra Daily Mail (ADM) newspaper, which this writer works for, is daily inundated with sad stories from abroad of how men who believe they are getting the love of their lives end up being bilked of huge sums of money. ADM decided to follow through a complaint sent in by a love sick man in the UK who said he had been f**led into sending cash to a lady he fell in love with on the Internet, Following the scent he provided, ADM investigations led to a ring of young men and women in Ghana, who create false profiles on dating sites to defraud unsuspecting single men looking for love from overseas.
With pictures From Peru ! Yes you are right Accra in Ghana is becoming a hotbed for scammers, the cafe internets there are full of ghanaians men and women scamming innocent people, they all claim to be americans of europeans dealing with gold and working as road contractors, and have many health problems, need money to pay their bill hotels, can't use credit cards there. They think people outside Africa is i***t. DON'T SEND THEM NOTHING THEY WILL STOLE YOU ALL. Look at this picture, the ghanaian was using this picture to scam me. He used the name of THOMAS MENDS, road contractor, emails: mendstomas@yahoo.com, tomasmends@yahoo.com, tomasmends123@yahoo.com. He is a sweet talker, he lives in Accra, and is alone in the world, and will receive millions of dollars from his company but not he doesn't have money to pay his bills there and is having problems with the hotel, all lies, all lies. He dates at the same time with many girls or men. I think he is a man but could be a woman as well. Who knows... They all are scammers there, he fall in love in the first email, he was dying to see me.
This is a very recent example of "African BROTHERHOOD ", with love from Ghana to Nigerian businessman , Dr. Mike Adenuga's GLOBACOM ! Log on to "Nigerian Vanguard Newspaper " of 25-05-10 and read the angry reactions of 63 Nigerians about this attack and similar acts of aggression from Ghanaians on Nigerians living in Ghana . By Prince Osuagwu LAGOS—SECOND national operator, Globacom, might have decided to pull out its operations from Ghana. Vanguard gathered that the decision might not be unconnected with allegations of sabotage and several challenges from some local Ghanaian interests that did not wantthe company's nationwide plan to take off. A source close to the company said that some of the challenges the company faced since it was awarded a GSM licence by the National Communications Authority, NCA, included an encroachment on the frequency allocated to it by the NCA, as well as repeated and organised sabotage of its billboards and the delay in securing approval for the swift deployment of its infrastructures like base stations. Vanguard gathered that while the company was working at achieving a fast roll-out of its network in the Ghanaian market, some forces had been deliberately working to cripple its operations and prevent it from rolling out as planned. t was also gathered that part of the decisions to pull out of Ghana was the company's feeling that its infrastructures in the country were not getting adequate protection from the law enforcement agencies. However, Vanguard gathered that Globacom had not served the government of Ghana any notice yet but would do that soonest. The decision was said to be the outcome of a meeting held by senior management staff of the company on the issues, where they unanimously condemned and expressed serious displeasure over the various acts of vandalism, on its infrastructure.
A senior official of Glo Mobile Ghana, Derek Okpobi, confirmed the story, saying “the frustrations are getting out of control. We have considered pulling out.”
Glo Mobile Ghana recently embarked on a massive deployment of outdoor advertising structures comprising billboards, light boxes, lamppost signs and brand marks (branded lit globes) throughout Accra as part of the build-up towards the nationwide launch of the company's operations in Ghana. However, immediately after the deployment of the outdoor advertising materials which generated a lot of positive remarks, a number of the outdoor structures were vandalised by unknown persons. In February 2010, about 15 light boxes mounted from the Airport traffic light median to the Opeibea House traffic light, were alleged to have been deliberately destroyed with the flexi materials used on both sides of the unit torn.
