KUNLE AFOLAYAN, CHINEZE ANYAENE, JETA AMATA, ALTHOUGH HAS DONE WELL WITH HUGE BUDGET FILMS, BUT THEY CANNOT EVEN REPEAT WHAT THEY HAVE DONE WITHIN A YEAR. FOR EXAMPLE, EVEN UPTILL NOW, STEPHENY OKEREKE'S THROUGH THE GLASS, HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED AFTER TWO YEASR OF PRODUCTION. SO WILL IJE AND FIGURINE INCLUDING INALE REMAIN FOR A LONG TIME. nina | 8/13/2010 10:12:49 AM My dear,go and get ur facts right,Ghana movies will neva eva meet up with Naija movies,in UK,nobody buys or rents them,which artistes r good there,none other than Maji Micheal,John Dumelo,Jackie Appiah,well Van Vicker and Yvonne Nelson r trying,i mean do u at all watch their movies or do u jst write based on d pictures or heresay,i watch alot,try watching and see if u will not beat yourself over the head for having rented or bought it,d manageable ones are the ones that have got Nigerian artistes on them,talking of recyling old faces,in Hollywood as well as Bollywood is the same,how long have Leonardo Decarprio,Tom Cruise,Russel Crowe,John Travolta,Angelina Jolie,Johnny Depp to name but a few been in Hollywood,but it is still their movies that poeple watch and feel real good,because u want to get ur money's worth not going to see some pack of amatuers acting like they r reading from a hanging board somewhere.often times i've tried doing that,buying Nollywood movies with fresh faces but regretted it,the storyline good but acting r*****h and vowed not to make that mistake again,if i don't see well known faces i dont rent or buy 'cos can't just waste my money.just know this,Nollywood is a million times ahead of Ghollywood,their pple i know will even laugh in ur face if u ask them 2 collect their movie and watch.it pays 2 get ur facts correctly.. Sam | 8/13/2010 8:38:28 PM Personally I'm sick & tired of some people saying ghanaian movies are now of high quality than nollywood.Which quality movies are u even talking abt?Is it Heart of men or hot fork?Or is it Agya koo in london or asew 4*9 or who killed beyonce?Do u think hollywood is the best just bcos of just abt 2 high quality movies a year?Numbers also count if u don't know These movies are supposed to also appeal to the masses and not the elite alone.Just look at what happened at the AMAA's last year.It was only abt 3 Ghanaian movies which won awards but even that the Nigerians had the most awards with different movies with the figurine topping with 5 awards.So on what basis are u saying dis?Perhaps you're obssessed with those nudity and the americanized stuff they do in those Abdul Salaam's productions.We're doing African movies that depict the real lives of people living on the continent & not mimicking that of westerners all in a bid to win Oscar awards.To me it is better to be recognised globally being your own self than 2 change completely into a whiteman b4 you are recognised.Don't forget those Agya Koo and the Socrate safo movies are also Ghanaian movies .Concerning the quality pictures & sound I don't see any difference cos most of the recent movies even the terrible ones have very good pictures so just go watch any recent Naija movie and tell me the difference. Personally I hardly watch hollywood movies these days like I used to but that doesn't mean hollywood is crumbling, as a matter of fact they're still reigning.So the fact that u don't watch a lot of naija movies anymore doesn't mean it has lost it's popularity cos these Ghanaian movies are almost the same as nollywood in terms of stories just that the ones 4rm Ghana lack the pure Ghanaian or African content.Lastly pls give me the list of the new faces who play lead roles apart 4rm these people Majid,Van,Nadia,Jackie,Kofi,Yvonne,Kalsoume and recently John,Artus Frank and Martha Ankomah.Are u telling me these people who have been there since 2006 are new?Pls come again cos u have no basis or watsoever to back your claims. sunday | 8/17/2010 3:29:46 AM we nigerians are funny,you keep talking about beautiful than ghanians, is not true.we talk too much,ghanians does not talk the way we do .instead,they decide to do something to beat you.never think you are beautiful than ghanians.these ghanians are beautiful,clean,elegance,civilize,classy,soft talking as ladies and gentlemen,their bodystature make them gorgeous especially when they are on hills.Not like nigerians(most)so gaint like golliat,big,huge and tall with the shoe size of 13-14 for women and men you know.Dont you see most of our compete with ghanians they win?dont be too big to your selves,humble your selves the way they do for God to bring as up.YOU have to know ghana got their independence before us and they started most of the things before us,so what is our problem.we have to advice our selves to stop talking so loud in our movies and to speak clear english and act classie like them.every where you go in us work places ,my nigeria people disgrace me ,they talk so loud,all the other black countries talk bad about them that they dont know,with their smellie ampit and onshaved ,so big and huge and think they are beautiful, stop that nonsense and humble your self.
