Steve Eboh (Ajebo)

THE arrangements for the Igbo Language Film festival which holds in December has been finalized with all the governors of the Igbo speaking states getting involved. According to Steve Eboh (Ajebo) A carnival float will start from Umuahia the Abia state capital through Imo state to Ebonyi State and will finally end up at the Enugu state capital where the main event will hold over a period of three days at the Hotel Presidential Enugu. Talks are in the pipeline for Infinity television through their two Igbo language stations Odenigbo and Kpakpando to be the official carriers of the project which is targeted at projecting Igbo language, culture and tradition and instituting the Igbo Language film industry

WHY NOW?
DA ORACLE | 8/31/2010 10:10:31 PM
U'VE FINALLY WOKEN UP FROM UR SLUMBER. I'M A PROUD IGBOMAN BUT SOMETIMES I FEEL VERY BAD ABOUT THE WAY OUR PEOPLE BEHAVE. WE'VE THROWN OUR PRECIOUS TONGUE INTO THE GARBAGE SIMPLY BECAUSE WE WANT OUR MOVIES TO ATTRACT WIDE AUDIENCE WHEREAS THE YORUBA MOVIES THRIVE IN THE MARKET. U'RE THE NOLLYWOOD CUZ U'RE THE BRAIN BEHIND IT BUT U'VE COMITTED AN UNFORGIVEABLE CRIME BY NEGLECTING THE IGBO LANGUAGE. IGBO PEOPLE ARE FUND OF SPEAKING ENGLISH WHEREEVER THEY GATHER WHILE THE YORUBAS NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE IN THE WORLD CONVERSE WITH THEIR TONGUE. I FEEL VERY ASHAMED THAT ONE CAN FIND BINI MOVIES,HOUSA MOVIES AND YORUBA MOVIES ON THE INTERNET AND MOST OF THE CABLE NETWORK BUT CANNOT FIND MORETHAN TWO IGBO LANGUAGE MOVIES. MOST OF US OVER HERE NOW SPEAK ENGLIGBO AND THERE IS NOTHING TO BE PASSED OVER THE GENERATIONS TO COME. HOW CAN U SAY U'RE AN IGBOMAN WHEN U CAN NOT SAY A WORD IN UR MOTHER TONGUE. AS OLD AS TONY UMEZ IS ,HE ONCE SAID HE'S SHY TO SPEAK IGBO BECAUSE HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO SPEAK IGBO LANGUAGE BUT HE SPEAKS FLUENT YORUBA.MAYBE HIS PARENTS WERE NOT IGBOS . SHAME TO OUR PEOPLE,WE ARE GOOD AT COPYING AND MAINTAINING OTHER PEOPLE'S CULTURE BUT OURS IS BEEN BURIED DOWN DEEP INTO THE EARTH.

Your reaction has been acknowledged. we need more of such constructive critizism towoards self-discovery.

The story shall never be the same. we're picking up our pieces for a stronger bond where love, respect, progress, peace and unity will be our watchword.

Emeka | 9/1/2010 7:20:39 PM
The Yoruba people has use the ibos to get fame and now they are diverting the films,if you realy watch the Actors and Actress thry are all Yorubas. When will the Ibos learn there leason and make use of what they have for their own self.

Everything has happen in that Country are the Ibos yet they lack behind, this time you all should make sure that this plan works for good
