Co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls movement Aisha Yesufu says anyone is free to vent on social media in light of the outburst of Nollywood actress Annie Idibia over her husband and singer 2Baba’s decision to spend nights with Pero Adeniyi (his baby mama).

Many, including actors Zubby Michael, Junior Pope and Nkechi Blessing-Sunday, have criticised Annie for bringing her family matters to social media.

However, joining the conversation via Twitter on Friday, Mrs Yesufu said everyone is not “wired” the same way, adding that people should be allowed to speak freely no matter the means they choose to do so.

“Let people be! If venting on social media is how best they can deal with an issue, so be it. We are all wired differently. When people die by suicide you say why didn’t they speak up. When people speak up, you say why didn’t they keep it at home. Just let people be!” she tweeted.

Annie’s marital crisis has escalated to include 2Baba’s family. Her brother-in-law Charles Idibia accused her of depriving the singer of peace. Annie fired back, saying Charles should stop “sucking” her husband dry.

Annie and 2Baba got married in 2012. They have two children – both girls. However, 2Baba had five children with two other women before marrying Annie.
