Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu, has kept silent just to watch the how things unfold after she was alleged to be involved in the trending case of a fan named Mayowa Ahmed, who is down with a strange ailment.

Mayowa became a topic of discuss some days back after the actress had decided to use her celebrity status to campaign for help to save her life after it was claimed that she is down with cervical cancer.

Well, the whole gist on the Mayowa case has gotten so messier that people don’t even know what to believe after it was later revealed that the money solicited for Mayowa’s surgery was a scam. Toyin in turn was indicted in the whole saga but she has come out to state she is innocent.

While they wait for the Police force to conclude their investigations, the actress has come out to apologise for any discomfort she might have caused due to her reactions while urging people to still show their love and care for the needy.

In her words, “I want to state for the record that I have never been a fraud and will never partake in one, not even at this stage of my career (which I hold to heart). All my efforts were strictly on humanitarian grounds without recourse to any pecuniary consideration or the resort to cheap fame.

That said, whatever discomfort my reactions may have cost anyone from any quarters is highly regretted and I take responsibility.

“Whilst I wish Mayowa a quick recovery and divine intervention, I want to urge us as a people to continue to exhibit that enviable Nigerian spirit of compassion and generosity and not because of this isolated case cease to be our sister/brother’s keeper. I love you all and thank you.”
