No doubt, Jim Iyke is one of the most sought-after movie stars in Nigeria, not only because he is a sex symbol, but because of his dexterity in interpreting roles. He is also one of the most controversial celebrities in the country.

Jim, as he is fondly called, has been enmeshed in several controversies, mostly because of his ill temper. Recently, he was involved in a brawl with ace broadcaster, Olisa Adibua, at a night club. He had also clashed with his colleague, Emeka Ike.

Although, he has not denied any of these tales, one thing that is currently giving him headache is what the controversies have caused him. gathered that, the actor would have won some mouthwatering endorsement contracts, but his bad image in the press has been an obstacle to it.

Speaking with recenntly, Jim said that, as an actor who has travelled far and wide, getting a good endorsement contract would have been a dream come true for him, “but you guys” [the press] have not been helping matters at all. No corporate organisation will want to settle for a controversial person as their ambassador.

“Look at what Etisalat gave to Banky W. It is not as if he has done so much for the industry to deserve that, but because he is free of bad press. But I know that one day, the endorsements will come. If I set my eyes on something, I don’t give up on it so easily,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jim Iyke, who is currently in the studio recording a musical album is expected to hit the shelves by the first quarter of next year.

The album, which is being produced by Puffy T, features Tuface Idibia, Timaya, and 9ice among others.

According to him, “I have always been a music writer and can boast of about 100 songs, so it’s not as if I’m joining the bandwagon. Besides, there is a thin line between acting and music; we are all entertainers.”
