top Fuji artiste, Murhi Thunder, has added his voice to the chorus of those wishing frail creator of Fuji music, Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, quick recovery from the heart ailment which has plagued him since last year.

In an emotion laden interview with Stardom, Murhi Thunder prayed God to grant Barrister many more happy years.

“It’s been the most trying period of his life and my heart goes out to him. He has touched so many lives and I am fervently praying that God will grant him many more happy years. I was sad when I heard that he was dead. I am glad to hear that he is still alive and praying that he remains with us much longer so that we the younger generation can learn so much more from him.”

He also opened up on the greatest advice he ever got in his entire life from non other than the father of Fuji music himself.

“I have played with the biggest names in the industry but the biggest name I ever played with was my mentor and role model, Ayinde Barrister, the man who single handedly created Fuji. Barrister is Mr. Fuji himself. That was many years ago. I got to meet him through my music. We have worked on a couple of songs together. The greatest advice I ever got in my life was from him. He told me never to get myself enmeshed in the current Fuji war going on in the industry which has pitched many artistes against each other. When I look back, I thank God for that advice because it has helped in moving my career forward in no small measure. As far as I am concerned, all those people saying that they are fighting a war are only using it to make money for themselves. That’s my view. They are simply hyping themselves.”

Describing the person of Barrister he said: “The man is a legend. He is my role model. He single-handedly created Fuji which is a global music genre today. Aside Fela, he is one of the few men of this age who single handedly created a new style of music.|”

New album

Currently, Murhi Thunder is working on his 21st album in which he features 2face in a track entitled Kasa kasa.

“We’ve been working round the clock and I can assure you that in a week’s time we will hit the market. I featured 2face on one of the tracks entitled Kasa kasa. It’s a double album; there’s a Fuji Cosmopolitan album and there’s a Hip-hop album as well. My fans should watch out!”
