Before the reign of indigenous raps from late Dagrin,Olamide,Reminisce, lil kesh, popular music artiste Lord of Ajasa was into music and was doing his Yoruba rap. The artiste who has been on the low was part of the builders of the Yoruba rap but now, he is bitter that he is not given recognition. In a recent interview, Lord of Ajasa voiced out that he is supposed to be given an award for laying the foundation for others to follow. In his words “I pioneered indigenous rap music and today it has become lucrative and fashionable. Yet, these young musicians shy away from that fact. They try to hide it. If I don’t blow my trumpet, nobody will do it. But I deserve an award, recognition and endorsement because a lot of people look up to me as their mentor... He also said those who started the genre of music are not recognized in recent times. He also said the new artiste only sing nonsense songs without impacting in the society, yet they are given endorsements. “Look at Eedris Abdulkareem and 9ice, for instance. I’m saying they should take care of the pioneers, but what impact have these new artistes really made in the society to deserve all the endorsements they are getting? I mean, they sing nonsense songs while we (pioneers) do evergreen and clean music. Yet they keep discouraging us. 2face is an exception I am okay with his brand of music, because his endorsements are well-deserved.” Click the link below to go to...
