For the first time in history, the Peoples Republic of China has officially sited a Chinese Language College at Kwankwaso village, home of governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Speaking at the formal commissioning of the college, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Gu Xiajie said the Chinese government had placed high premium on making indigenes of Kano master the Chinese language for the purpose of comprehending certain peculiarities on ground. According to him, the Chinese government is ready to support the Chinese language College in Kano given the huge population of Chinese Nationals domiciled in Kano. He also stressed that the issue of trade and commerce could only be effectively tackled with indigenes of the state understanding the Chinese language. He said China is an integral part of global diplomacy in view of its influence as an economic super power and that indigenes of the state are poised to exploit the opportunity of establishing the school at this material point in time.
