Burgeoning screen actress, Amaka Iruobe gave a tip of what the future holds for her career when she acted in Tinsel, and thereafter she played a role in Funke Akindele’s Jennifer’s Diary. Currently, she is headlining Dabby Chimere’s television series, Lies And Secret alongside notable acts in Nollywood with a sub-major role. Better described as a focused person, in this interview, she speaks on issues concerning her career and life.
Why did you choose acting?
I didn't choose acting, but it chose me.
Can you tell us how it all started?
After I graduated from my secondary school, it all started for me. Though the first movie I acted never came out, as I didn’t get to hear about it after the shoot. Then, years later, I went for Mnet’s Tinsel audition, and I was picked. And that was how the journey continued for me.
When you joined the Nollywood industry, were you sexually harassed?
No, I wasn't.
How about the sex for role issue that is looming the industry of today?
Well I hear a lot of people talk about sex for a role. But, I can't say anything about that yet, maybe till I come across one. I can only speak for the one I’ve experienced though.
