One of the critics is controversial Cool FM OAP Daddy Freeze who came out yesterday to openly condemn it and went as far as sharing the post of an unidentified user who claims that Nathaniel was using the challenge to publicise his new single "OlowoGboboro" therefore accusing Nathaniel of using it to gain more followers and this led to a battle of words on IG between him and nollywood actress Funke Akindele who came out to defend Nathaniel Bassey and his Hallelujah Challenge.

Latest gist filthering in has it that the editor in Chief and Publisher of Genevieve Magazine, Mrs Betty Irabor and Cool FM OAP,Dotun have both come for Daddy Freeze for criticizing the Hallelujah Challenge.

Betty Irabor in defence hinted that many people have been blessed through the challenge and Nathaniel Bassey dropping a single coincidentally doesn’t make the challenge a scam.
