Actress Regina Daniels has put the spotlight on child labour in the Nigerian film industry, calling on all stakeholders to join in the fight against it.

The actress said in a video uploaded on Monday to Instagram that she decided to address the issue when she met a minor who was working as a make-up artist at a movie set.

On further interrogation, Regina said the 14-year-old told her that her parents live in Port Harcourt and she left home for Delta to work.

She said the child told her that she sleeps in different hotels and has been sexually harassed by both men and women.

Regina, who began her career as a child, said she had taken the girl in and registered her in one of the best schools in Delta.

She called out her colleagues who engage minors during work.

“The society is bad as it is and we know that young girls, the underprivileged ones, are at the mercy of society. I urge other celebrities to not encourage child labour,” she said.
