Legendary Juju musician and evangelist, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, has admonished musicians not to see themselves as competitors, but rather as one united people, using their talents to make people happy.

Veteran singer Ebenezer Obey has lost his 48-year-old son Olalekan Obey-Fabiyi.

He died on Friday and was buried on Saturday, according to The Nation.

The cause of his death had yet to be made public by the family as of press time.

On Saturday night, media mogul Basorun Dele Momodu shared a video on Instagram of the founder of UK-based Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church aka SPAC Nation, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, receiving Obey at his home in London.

Chief Commander as Obey is fondly called was accompanied by his son Bishop Folarin to Adegboyega’s home.

“Pastor TOBI ADEGBOYEGA receives the music legend CHIEF COMMANDER EBENEZER OBEY, accompanied by son BISHOP FOLARIN OBEY, at home in London,” Momodu said.

Obey lost his wife of 48 years Lady Juliana Obey-Fabiyi at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital on August 23, 2011. Juliana died at the age of 67.

The juju singer has severally had to dispel rumour about his death.

“I thank God and appreciate my fans all over the world who have been showing concern and care about the death rumour.

“I want everyone to know that God is with me, am alive and not sick, I am in peace,” he told NAN in 2020.
