Ogun state was drown into shock when four friend who have gathered together to drink, drank local gin called Ogogoro.
The men are said to be, Baba Imeko, Baba Onwenue and Easy while the fourth person’s name is yet to be ascertained.
It was reported that the seller of the gin, Taloju is also a friend to the deceased and has been selling liquor for two decades now.
Taloju who is hale and hearty has been arrested and blamed for the death of the four who passed away which he vehemently denied saying he also drank from the gin, but nothing happened to him.
However, Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi who is the acting Police Public Relations Officer has declared no report of death.
In his words: “As far as we are concerned, it is a rumor. If any of their relatives comes and complains that their family members died, then, we can confirm it. We have not seen any corpse. Even though a suspect has been arrested, he is drunk and we cannot rely on his statement.”
Despite the statement of the police, neighbors and sympathizers has confirmed that incident really took places as many have been trooping the house of the victims to pay condolences.
