Nollywood actress and first-time director Genevieve Nnaji could not hold back her tears during the premiere of her movie Lion Heart at Tiff 2018.

The beautiful actress who was dressed in a red power suit was a bundle of emotions as she addressed the audience after the show.

Her tears choked her so much that she had to invite her best friend to the stage to see her through the speech.

Lion Heart is Genevieve ‘s debut as a movie director. The movie features veteran’s like Nkem Owoh and Onyeka Onwenu, it has also been acquired originally by Netflix.

Genevieve Nnaji is a Nigerian actress and singer. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, making her the first actress to win the award. In 2011, she was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic by the Nigerian government for her contribution to Nollywood.

On September 7, 2018 her directorial debut “Lion heart” was acquired by online streaming service Netflix marking it the first Netflix original film from Nigeria. Genevieve also confirmed the news via her social media handle after it’s announcement by the company.
