Nigerian Nollywood veteran actress Eucharia Anunobi has spoken out on the challenges she faced when she first wanted to venture into the Nollywood industry.

The actress who just graduated of Redeemed Christian Church of God’s School of Disciples had lost her 15 year old son Redmond late last year and it seems that the actress has finally moved on from the devastating incident.

Evangelist Eucharia has revealed that her father was against her going into the entertainment industry, she had to sneak out of the house to attend auditions. Her father main reason for not giving her the support initially was because the entertainment industry was filled with drug users and as such, he didn’t want anybody bringing shame to the Anunobi family.

She however was given the green light from her father after she starred in Glamour Girls.

“However, I was a graduate already and I was determined not to bring shame to my family. I used to go out secretly for auditions because I wasn’t supposed to be seen outside my house after 7pm. I only received my father’s blessing after I featured in the movie, Glamour Girls, and I showed him an award I got in London.” She wrote.

According to her she always get into a fight everyday with her father who always threatened her that if she go into acting rather than look for a better job that he will disown her, but after winning the award the story changed.

That’s a typical Nigerian parent always not in support of your initial dream but when it is a success they will embrace you with arms wide open.
