The Headies awards has historically offered some form or controversy or the other over the years especially after some nominees who felt they should have won certain categories lose out.

This year, the controversy has started early as a producer has called out the organisers of the show for omitting his name in the producer of the year nominees.

The aggrieved producer, Doctor Amir, who is the in-house producer for Kcee’s 5star Music produced the smash hit single ‘Reggae Blues’ (A Song That Got Three Major Nominations) yet he did not get a nomination for the producer of the year category.

The beats maker took to his Instagram to express his grievances with the Headies organisers, listing the top categories the songs were nominated for and registering his dismay at his omission.

“Give to ceazar wat belongs to ceazer abeg!!! so am checking the headies nomination list and a song I produced REGGAE blues BY Harrysong FT OLAMIDE KCEE IYANYA AND OREZI was nominated FOR THREE CATEGORIES AT THE HEADIES AWARD

1. SONG OF THE year
