The Governor of Abia state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has instructed the transition committee chairmen of the 17 local government areas of the state to appoint two disabled people each as special assistant.

His decision was informed by the continuous appeal by the governor of the physically challenged persons in the state. Ikpeazu stated that his administration will do all it takes to ensure that everyone is carried along.

He made this known during a town hall meeting for the south senatorial district of the state, held at the Abia Polytechnic.

According to him, about N4b has been set aside for the renovation of primary schools across the state. And 10 primary schools would be rehabilitated in each of the 17 local government areas.
