Nigerian recording artist and performer Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, better known by his stage name Iyanya, hails from Cross River State; he was born on 31 October 1986.

The singer was signed into Mavins Record by the boss Don Jazzy in October 2016, but his time with the group is over as he disclosed today.

Iyanya is the first artiste to leave the group since Don Jazzy signed new acts.

He further said that there is no beef regards to his exist he just felt he should leave.

“It was not a beef. I was there and it was time to move on. I’m now signed to Temple Music but I’m a Mavin for life.” He told Beat FM

Iyanya’s exit leaves the group to 10 stars. They include Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, D’Prince, Di’Ja, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Johnny Drille, Poe, and the DNA Twins.

Iyanya rose to fame after winning the first season of Project Fame West Africa, and is best known for his hit single “Kukere”.
