Yoruba actress and movie producer, Laide Bakare, has finally returned to the country after taking a break from acting for more than two years. News of her return surfaced recently when the mother of three was said to have been spotted at a social gathering.
While she was away, reports had it that her marriage suffered a setback and might be heading for the rocks.
Information pieced together by E, however, suggested that Laide’s long absence from movie industries was a major concern for her fans.
When speaking on what took her away from the scene for almost three years, Laide said she took the break to have kids.
She explained that it was the joy of every woman to settle down and have kids. “I was shocked to have read series of nasty comments about me”.
Laide said she was yet to ascertain where the rumours came from.
“Honestly, I don’t know where it emanated from, but I think many people were worried, because I was not around for a while.
So they assumed I was having problems with my marriage. I was in the United States (US) to take care of my family. In the midst of it, I gave birth to two kids, who are currently in America with my mum,” she explained.
She said further that she returned to the country to resume her acting career and also to float a record label. “ I am back now and I am happy to return to what I love doing.
“I am also delving into music as I would be floating a record label as the first woman to take up the challenge. I know it will be difficult, but I am ready to push myself beyond the limits so that our young ones who are talented in music could be given the platform to express themselves and be given the opportunity to reach the climax of their dreams”, she said.
