Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Ahmed Akinbiyi, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has been urged by the Lagos State University to return to class and earn his degree.

This comes shortly after the singer posted on his social media page about dropping out of LASU to pursue music.

The singer who gained prominence after releasing hit song, Cash App, took to his Twitter page to announce that he was currently worth over 550 million views from his songs.

“I now worth over half a billion streams
(550 millions streams to be precise)
I for still dey LASU dey wine and dine with carry overs and stranded with nothing in my pocket. Forever glad I did my thing,” he tweeted.

Replying to the singer via its official Twitter page on Friday, which was a day after the singer’s birthday, congratulated him on his achievement but urged him to get his degree.

Using the handle @LASUOfficial, the institution said, “Happy birthday @fineboybella. Glad you have come this far pursuing your dream. Also glad @LASUOfficial played a part in your beautiful story because University don’t make people rich, only incubate them to find and achieve purpose. BTW, please come back to class and earn your degree.”
