Chuwang Gyang, a legal practitioner has criticized the ongoing trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, for alleged forgery.

He said that what is playing out in the Nigerian government is power tussle between the Executive and the Legislative arm of government which is beginning to have a negative impact on governance.

It would be recalled that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday June  27,  arraigned Saraki, Ekweremadu, an ex- Clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Maikasuwa and his deputy, Benedict Efeturi over their alleged complicity in forgery of the Senate Standing Rules, 2015.

It was learnt that it was the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) that instituted the two count charge of forgery against Saraki and Ekweremadu.
