Several weeks after actor John Okafor aka Mr Ibu cried out his accounts were hacked, police have arrested the suspect. According to a post on his backup account ‘realmr1’, the comedian the suspected culprit was being drilled at the police station.
The highlight of Mr Ibu’s revelation about his accounts was that the culprit is one of his colleagues.
Mr Ibu’s daughter, Chioma Jasmine Okafor made this known through her social media account explaining that her father has taken the hacker who happens to be a Nollywood actor to a police station.
She said the following on her IG: Should we reveal his identity or temper justice with as he has been begging for forgiveness since yesterday! Note he also hacked his Facebook and the email he uses in receiving notifications from bank! He’s only begging we cover his identity because he said it will Jeopardize his career in the nollywood industry ! Please what do y’all suggest we do in this regard! Keep sharing until it gets to the appropriate news agencies! Thanks regards! Chioma Jasmine
Though he withheld the individual’s identity, he said he is a male, noting how much of his identity he will reveal will be determined by the extent of damages incurred during the time he used the accounts (Instagram, Facebook and email).
The hilarious movie act further appealed to the public to cease reporting the accounts as they habe been restored to him.
Mr Ibu wrote: “This is to let everyone know that we have cat fished the person that hacked MR Ibu’s verified Instagram account account!
“He was arrested yesterday and the case is in the police station! He confessed to the crime and investigation is still on going. It’s so saddening to know that it was one of the colleagues in the Nollywood industry. His motives are yet unknown.
“Revealing his identity depends on how far the extent of the damages that he was using the account to do was! Please help us let the public know that they can stop reporting the account now as it had been restored to us. Thanks!”
Mr. Ibu, is a Nigerian actor and comedian. Okafor is considered to be one of Nigeria’s most talented and highly paid comic characters. His humorous acting is often characterized by stupidity, hilarious imbecility and a sharp disconnection from reality.
