Nigerian singer Abolore Akande popularly known as 9ice has said that his voice has lost the youthful appeal it used to have because of his age.

He noted he recorded his first song at age 24 and now he is 35years. The difference in the voice then and now is very different.

The singer whose voice has been a little croaky said that another thing that affected his voice was that sometimes when they go for event, the microphones and other sound equipment are not always in good so he has to shout on top of his voices till the end of his performance.

“I end up shouting at the top of my voice. Imagine someone doing that consistently for five years. After the release of Gongo Aso, I was doing shows all over back and forth for almost five years. Sometimes, you rehearse your songs on a particular key, and when you get there for performance, they play a different key. So with all these, there is the tendency to lose your voice, and even get the voice cracking,” he said.

Well, he has given reasons to justify why his voice has lost I’ts appeal over the years . One will begin to wonder if legendary singers like Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey among others have not passed through similar experiences and yet they still have  the flavor of their voice when they were younger.
