Nigerian singer Fefe has been furious with giant bank Guarantee Trust Bank after the singer report that her work was illegally used by the bank without her consent.

This came after Adekunle Gold had called out a Nollywood producer who used his work as a soundtrack in their movie without his consent.

Fefe is of the option that she will not be pursuing it in a law suit as she will let it slide but this will only serve as a warning.

Fefe wrote:

“So I came across @adekunlegold post about film producers using his music as a soundtrack without taking permission or going through due process and I have to 100% agreed with him. This is copyright infringement and is disrespectful to the work we artists put in making music. I am also a victim of this ungrateful act. @gtbank is a highly recognized and reputable company and is known to be owners of @ndanitv.

One of my singles titled “Aura” was used as a soundtrack on the popular TV series “Gidi Up” which is funded by Gtbank under the Ndani TV platform. The directors, producers, actors, makeup artists, and so on were all paid for their various inputs into the project.

However, neither me nor my management team were contacted for permission to use my music as a soundtrack for their show.

However, we will not be filing a lawsuit because we do not have time for pursuing negative energy at the moment but let this be a warning to companies out there who think they can exploit our talents and deprive us from the royalties or payment we deserve.”
