‘Nollywood’ has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan and his bid to stay in office. What is however funny is why they should and how they went about it. At the stage in our economic development should endorsing a candidate be influenced by bank credit or the conscience.

Aware that they have the right to support who ever they want to support, it is questionable why influential Olu Jacobs, Ramsey Nuoah, Genevieve Nnaji, Desmond Elliot, Monalisa Chinda, Susan Peters and others would feature in the video telling their support for GEJ. It is indeed worrying! Hollywood did endorse Barrack Obama but it was never for a dime, there was a visible genuine belief in Barrack Obama. Nollywood actors in the video [below] were paid to feature in the video.

What Goodluck Jonathan has done thus is refused to take part in any political debate with the other candidates? Instead participating in a debate by himself where he performed shamefully, and the highly disapproved interview with D’Banj – why it was disapproved? not a single serious issue was discussed and it was described as the youth supporting GEJ.

Let’s take that the video was shot (note, no word of such has been said or reported), the video says Nollywood supports Jonathan and his manifesto – which he is yet to talk about, his agenda if re-elected is still relatively unknown.

Ramsey Noah, Genevieve Nnaji, Olu Jacobs, Susan Patrick, Desmond Elliot, Monalisa Chinda and In Edo are Nigeria’s biggest entertainers/ role models and they have failed woefully in that responsibility of being role models. To whom much is given, much is expected. Disagree?
