A Hausa actress by the name of Sadiya Haruna has been sentenced to jail for defamation of a colleague. The actress was sentenced by a Kano Chief Magistrate Court to six months in prison without the option of a fine.
The Magistrate Court sitting at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, on Monday revealed that Sadiya Haruna defamed a colleague, actor Isa A. Isa.
The actress had in viral Instagram posts and videos alleged that Isa demanded anal s– from her, she also called him a h–os—a-, a ba-t-rd and an unrepentant womaniser.
The presiding judge Justice Muntari Dandago found the actress guilty of all counts against her then sentenced her to six months imprisonment without a fine.
The Judge further ruled that in case Haruna continued to defame Isa, she would be sentenced to three years in prison; the actress has up to three months to appeal the judgement.

In August 2021, a Sharia court sitting in Kano state convicted her of obscenity and indecent acts. On Monday, February 7, the court, presided over by Justice Muntari Garba Dandago, sentenced her for defaming Isa’s character.
DailyTrust reports that in 2019, Sadiya had accused Isa of initiating her into “short term marriage”, while she continued to share his videos on her Instagram page. He, however, denied the allegation and dragged her before the court for alleged character assassination.
Toyin, who appeared to be overjoyed in the video, lauded the product as the go-to custard for quality taste, claiming that it would come out flawless and would surely provide the body energy.
