As Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s guest will be served akara (Bean cake) at Kalakuta museum

 Today 2 August makes it exactly 2o years that the legendary founder of Afrobeat, Fela Anikulapo Kuti joined his ancestors and the family he left behind, musicians and fans are leaving no stone unturned to make the day grand. 

His son, Femi Anikulapo Kuti took to his social media page to remember his father in these words “What a great man he was, our father (Fela) Brave, committed in the fight against corruption and oppression. His music/messages are still more than relevant in these trying times we are. Fela we love you.

Check show Femi will not be in Nigerian to participate in his father’s death anniversary; because he will be keeping the fire of Afrobeat burning in the United States of America as he will be performing at the Los Angeles re-union gig.

Meanwhile in Lagos Bez and Nekka are expected to welcome visitors to the Kalakuta Museum for an evening with Fela, were visitors have been promised lots of akara (Bean cake) and untold Fela gist.

While later in the evening at the New African Shrine, #1 nerd road, Agidingbi Ikeja Lagos they will be a concert in honor of Fela and the likes of 2baba, Oritsha Femi, L.A.X and many more will be on stage to thrill fans.
