Ned Nwoko, husband of actress Regina Daniels, has won the Delta North senatorial election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The 62-year-old polled a total of 92,514 votes to defeat his closet rival Kennedy Kanma of the Labour Party, who scored 86,121 votes.

Regina Daniels celebrated her husband’s victory on social media on Monday, February 27.

The mother-of-two posted a video on her Instagram story with the caption “It’s about to be a carnival.”

People in the video could be heard chanting the word “We won”.

She posted another one on her Instagram page of her thanking the people for voting for her husband.

“The race is finally over and it’s with a big heart filled with immense gratitude that I say a biggggggggg thank you to the great people of Anioma and everyone who supported and saw to the victory of my husband, Prince Ned Nwoko as senator Elect for Delta North. The people have chosen and they chose wisely, let the good works begin, Anioma will be great again. God bless the great people of Anioma,” she wrote in the caption of the post.

Regina has equally reposted videos and pictures posted by family and friends congratulating her and Nwoko.

The actress posted a video of her at the voting centre on Saturday.

The video also captured her husband talking to the media and her mother cooking.

She captioned the video “The day is finally here…. I am so elated to have successfully exercised my civil rights and duties by casting my vote wisely for my desired candidates. I look forward to a positive outcome. Nigeria will be great again.”
