The death of Nollywood star actress, Moji Olaiya has generated media attention in the Yoruba Movie industry, but what has generated more controversy is the recent crisis as to who would fund the burial of the late actress.

Ekiti State had allegedly failed to fulfil its promise after the story went viral that the state will fund her burial; a task which was eventually carried out by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

A close source to the state has however hinted City People about the real reason Gov Fayose ignore the request.

Immediately after the death of popular Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya, Nollywood industry were quick to constitute a committee of friends to arrange for her burial. They met with SA Ekiti State, Lere Olayinka to mediate a fruitful support from the State in organizing a befitting burial for the late actress. They were able to get a nod from Lere, who assured them that the Governor will do something about it, since Moji Olaiya is from the state.

Lere asked them to put it in writing so as to formalize the request. They did. But Governor Fayose didn’t accept.
The feeling of some people around Fayose is why fund Moji’s expenses when at the last elections she openly campaigned for Kayode Fayemi.

It was Lere’s verbal approval that however went viral in the media. The committee were quick to conclude that Ekiti state support was a done deal, but Fayose ignored the request.
