For over eight years Emeka Ike was no where to be found in the scheme of things in the Nigerian music industry popularly called Nollywood.

His self-imposed exile that came about by his failed struggle to become the president of the actors guild of Nigeria. Today, Emeka Ike is back to acting in a new flick titled “My Daughter, My Wealth,” a production of Godson Uzor Nwosu.

Nwosu say he had to give it his all to lure Ike back to the screens because the industry cannot afford to Miss Emeka Ike at this moment and that it took him over two years to convince Emeka Ike to return to acting.

Speaking on how he returned to movie Emeka Ike confirmed that Godson Uzor Nwosu begged him for over two years before he returned to the screen because his pleadings got to him “ He has been begging me to stare in his film for two years now. At a point, I decided to oblige him his request,”

Emeka Ike is one of the prolific actors who is known for his roles as playboy or Casanova in Nollywood movies. He also has been tagged as one of Nollywood’s ‘Bad boys’ due to playing movie roles of a man who physically, abuses women. Emeka Ike is ethnic Igbo, was born and raised in Lagos, in the family of Elder and Mrs. Nicolas Ike.

The actor’s father was a pastor before he became late. Emeka Ike studied mechanical engineering at the University in Lagos, but he had a burning passion for acting. His first major role was in the movie ‘Deadly Affair’ in 1987.

Accoring to Emeka Ike, he had no idea of the precise number of movies he had featured in. However, it has been counted that Emeka Ike has acted in over 60 Nollywood movies, including Right Man for Me, Passion and Pain, Passions, Queen Sheba, Not Man Enough, Two Become One {1,2}, I Want Your Wife {1, 2}, Foreign Affairs {1, 2}, Divided Kingdom {1, 2} and others. © Nigeriafilms.com
