Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister has been flown to India for a surgical operation, We has been reliably informed.

The fuji musician, who has been shuttling Nigeria and United States for regular check up in the past, was said to have travelled to India on Wednesday to be operated on “for excess fat”.

Source said Barry, who had been diabetic for some years, had to be flown abroad “to have excess fat removed from his body.”

He added that Barrister was accompanied on the Asian trip by his personal physician and his son, an Abuja-based medical practitioner.

“The son arranged for the trip and other things necessary for his father’s flight to India for the surgery,” he informed.

A FUMAN executive member, who wouldn’t want to be revealed, told us that his trip to 24, Lamina Lawal Street, Fuji Chamber in Isolo, revealed “worried faces of Barrister’s children, his

wives, drivers and other workers hanging around corners either praying or discussing in hushed tones.”

None, however, said anything to us.

Calls to K1 were not returned, while Saka Orobo, national president of FUMAN, said he was not aware of Barrister’s flight to India. “I’m hearing it for the first time. I will try and find out,” he said.

For a while, Barry had stopped performing at events following a warning from his personal physician that he should take time off rigorous exercise and rest.

Barry had looked forward to giving out one of his daughters in marriage at the end of April in Port Harcourt.

Meanwhile, Elder Dayo Odeyemi, Media Adviser to Barrister, refused to comment on the development.
