Future Awards Co-Founder, Emilia Asim-Ita Is DeadCo-founder of The Future Awards Africa and former partner at Red Media Africa, Emilia Asim-Ita, has died after a brief illness.

The graduate of mass communication breathed her last on Friday. The illness that led to her death was however yet to be revealed.

Announcing her death, her company, AML Media posted on their social media account, saying;

Words fail us. ⁣You were more than a boss. You were a friend, an inspiration and an outstanding person.⁣ You will forever remain in our hearts.⁣ Rest well, Emilia.

She started her career as a presenter, book review segment, ‘Mind Your Grammar’ on NTA 2 Channel 5 before working as a presenter on ‘Youth Talk with Emilia’ on NTA Network service for five years.

In 2005, Emilia co-founded The Future Awards/The Future Nigeria project alongside Chude Jideonwo and Debola Williams.

She was the PR/marketing director for the conveying organisation, RedSTRAT communications (now RED Media) for six years.

Before her demise, Emilia was the founder and practise director of AML media, a multi-disciplinary, strategic communications firm she founded in 2010 after ending her partnership with Jideonwo and Williams.

Prior to A’Lime Media, she co-founded ThistlePraxis, one of the foremost indigenous management consulting companies focused on sustainability and CSR.

Emilia was also strategy & communications director at 3AL, associate producer and content director at The Academy and Amstel Malta Box Office Reality shows.
