British actor of Nigerian decent, John Boyega has announced via his twitter page that he placed Wizkid’s hit song ‘ Daddy Yo ‘ as soundtrack to his movie ‘ Pacific Rim ‘.

He said he had the opportunity to do that as producer of the movie who wants creativity displayed.

His tweet:

One of the most exciting things about producing Pacific Rim Uprising was the opportunity to influence the creative choices. So I put @wizkidayo song “Daddy yo” in the movie. Jaegers need afrobeats too!

Wizkid in return appreciated the effort of his fellow Nigerian for putting his song as the sound track in the movie.

This he did by retweeting Boyega’s tweet and calling him ”my bro” .

Pacific Rim is a sci-fi movie which had its prequel released in 2013 and starred Charlie Hunnam and Idris Elba.

Both stars are not featuring in the sequel which features boyega playing the role of the son of the character Idris Elba played.

The movie will be release on the march-22-2018 and is expected to be a massive hit.

John is an actor known for playing Finn in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens , the seventh film of the Star Wars series, and its 2017 sequel Star Wars: The Last Jedi .

He was born 17 March 1992 and is one of the few actors with Nigerian decent who still have connections to their roots.

The actor was recently in Nigeria where he visited Fela’s New Afrika Shrine and partied with 2face and Wizkid.

He was also present in December to witness the Calabar carnival where he was treated to royalty.

His family hails from Ogun State, southwest Nigeria where he often visits.
