After about 20 years of playing in the Nigerian local league, Victor Ezeji has bowed off in style. He has  played for two-time African champions, Enyimba – winning one of the titles with them.

He also played for the defunct Sharks and Dolphins of Port Harcourt, Sunshine Stars and Heartland.

He had his testimonial match that featured  ex-internationals Mutiu Adepoju and Austin Eguavoen, as well as the  chairman of the League Management Company, Shehu Dikko,

He said  “I am grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of this match. I never knew I would be this much appreciated and honoured. I also appreciate everyone that contributed to my successful career in football,” he said.

“I am also grateful to God and the Rivers State Government for helping to make this ream become a reality. Playing for 20 years in one league is not an easy task and I believe that this will inspire other young players to keep the flag flying.

“The local league is witnessing more development and I hope it can only get better.”
