The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola is a global journey that will deliver the most coveted trophy in all of sports to every corner of the globe, before returning to Russia in June for World Cup 2018.

The trophy traveled right across Russia over a three-month period, taking in 16 cities and racking up almost 10,000 miles.

This is the fourth global FIFA World Cup trophy tour will visit no less than 91 cities across 51 countries and six continents before settling back in Russia for the tournament.

The tour will visit every country that has ever won the FIFA World Cup (Brazil, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Uruguay, France, England and Spain)

The trophy can only be held by former winners and heads of state. Over one million samples of Coca-Cola will be distributed during the FIFA World Cup trophy tour

There’s a specially designed chartered plane for the FIFA World Cup trophy. The trophy tour will travel with a hologram film that will be played over 2,000 times

Over 800,000 people will have the chance to have their photos taken with the real FIFA World Cup trophy

The trophy will travel 149,576.78 km on its journey – that’s 3.75 times round the world 10,000 miles and visiting 16 cities, making it the longest host country tour in history.

The authentic FIFA World Cup is made of 18 karat gold with a malachite base; it stands 36.8 centimeters high and weighs 6.1 kilograms

The trophy cannot be won outright – the winners receive a gold plated replica.

We don’t have a world cup winner in Nigeria so one player will get hold of it, too bad. The world cup trophy is set to tour Nigeria on March 7 2018.
