Grace-filled singer, Lily Perez is set to make a big career move and raise the bar in the Nigerian music industry and particularly the gospel music sector with her soon to be released album.

According to the mother of one, “it has been a long time coming, and I think now is the right time for me to do it, because recent happenings around me have changed my perspective of life ; and these happenings have helped in no small measures in changing my sound and writing.”

Information made available to Nigerianfims.com by the ebony skinned singer out- lined two instances as major deciding factors in her career “I got into the studio at a point when I just had my amazing son –Zion, after waiting on the Lord for a while, and it just opened me up and I really felt the urge to thank God with my songs for this gift…”

As she talked about her son who was on her laps smiling at his beautiful mother constantly, she pulsed for a moment and recalled how a fire incident helped her yet to be titled album. “Prior to the fire accident, I had started working on my album, recorded a few songs but somehow I couldn’t finish them for a couple of reasons. For example, I was busy with other businesses, also there was something missing and I couldn’t place my hands on it. But this faithful day, I walked into my kitchen and my help left the gas on; so when I tried to ignite the burner; they was a sudden explosion and all my body and hair were on fire and I heard a voice inside of me saying, ‘Lilly you will not die’, I just lay there and the fire kept consuming my body, I can not even say how the fire was put out…”

The singer then explained that her perspective of life changed after the fire incident, “after the injuries healed I felt anew and started singing from a part of my heart that I never knew existed, I had to go on compulsory bed rest, my movement was basically restricted and I was ‘forced’ to be still. I was away from the noise and hustle…”

In the place of solitude, songs began to come, I was able to finish the songs I had struggled to complete with ease, it all made more sense to me, I had had a bad experience and God turned it into a testimony. I could write and sing from a depth of reality not just mere words.”

The album has her hubby and ace producer VC Perez leading an all-star list of producers that also has Ty Mix and Fliptyce.

Meanwhile, the ever smiling and soft spoken but fire brand singer say the music industry has got amazing singer like Simi, Cobahms, Timi Dakolo, and Praiz whom she described as “singers she loves to listen to”

Lily’s album is expected before the end of the year.
