Just when you thought entertainment was drowning in the nation’s capital, it suddenly took a u-turn, thanks to Roland Igbadumhe aka Youngest Old Man, whose show at the weekend revived the sleeping spirits of entertainment, especially comedy faithful.

Youngest, as he is fondly called by friends, said the aim of the show titled ‘Beef with Youngest Old Man,’ was his own way of marking the ten years of uninterrupted democracy, adding that the show was meant to help make Nigerians relax after much stress as a result of the recent economic meltdown.

Delighted by the crowd’s response at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton hotel, Abuja, Youngest said that the title ‘beef’, was his idea of rebranding the entertainment industry especially in the area of comedy and not that he was beefing anybody.

“Actually we’ve changed the pattern of our music and comedy in Nigeria. We must not all the time do a show and call it comedy show and stuffs like that. We just have to come out with different ideas. In America there is something called beef rap, so this is my own dimension and a way of rebranding the comedy scene,” he said.

It would be recalled that the crowd was thrown into laughter the moment Gordons, klint d Drunk and some other artistes mounted the stage.

The warm evening’s event featured the likes of Faze, Soul E, I Go Die, Gandoki, MI and jessy Jagz. Others are, Tripple White, Raf 4, Owente, Onome da Saint, Gully Ryder and many upcoming Abuja-based artistes.

In his remark, Youngest thanked the crowd and his fellow artistes for honouring the event. “I’m thankful to the Nigerian police, they are a wonderful people; they made this show what it is today. I also want to use this medium to beg the government to support the industry so that Nigerians can relax.”

Speaking after the show, Youngest said he would be coming out hot and fresh alongside Seun, in October this year with ‘Youngest Unusual.’
