It was an event that thousands of Nigerians were glued to the screens to watch as Chioma Stephanie Obiadi who is representing Anambra State emerged winner of the 40th edition of the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant held at the Eko Hotel Conference Center in Lagos, Nigeria on Monday.

She beat the other 36 participants at this year’s edition of the famous competition tagged the Ruby Edition, and has now taken over the crown from the 2015 winner of the competition, Cross River’s Pamela Peter-Vigboro Leesi. Some of the benefits Chioma Stephanie Obiadi has received so far includes an all-expense paid trip to France by Air France, 5 million naira, a brand new SUV, 6-month skill acquisition programme in any institution of choice, and a one-year serviced apartment.

The new Miss Nigeria will go on to represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe contest next year.
