Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be one of the actors  in a Turkish television series called Hayat Koprusu, alongside Hollywood Angelina Jolie.

The series, called “Hayat Köprüsü” (Bridge of Life), will be shown in Turkey, the Middle East and parts of Latin America.

Filming has already commenced in the south-eastern city of Gaziantep near the Syrian border, and will centre around a Syrian family fleeing the civil war as refugees, Goal writes.

Director Eyup Dirlik announced that his crew was in contact with some international relief agencies, adding that Ronaldo and Jolie were among the big celebrities who wanted to identify with the project.

“We will begin filming in the first week of April, the series is about the plight of a refugee family and what they go through,” Dirlik told Turkish Football.

“There will be appearances from actors and actresses from all over the world including Cristiano Ronaldo, Angelina Jolie and Nancy Ajram.”

Ronaldo has business interests in Turkey and previously joined Turkish Football Federation president Yildirim Demiroren for the opening of his shopping mall in Istanbul in 2011.
