The Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado Ekiti on Thursday criticized the rate of which corpses are being abandoned in its morgue.
In a statement made by the Dr Kolawole Ogundipe, the Chief Medical Director,(CMD) of the hospital said the families of most of the corpses have abandoned them for a very long time whiles some have refused.
He furthered that these unclaimed corpses are becoming a menace else to the hospital and had occupied virtually all the few available space in the mortuary.
The statement advised that all families should come without hesitation to claim their corpses giving a one week ultimatum or a mass burial will be conducted for all the corpses.
He explained that the mass burial will help to decongest the mortuary space creating sanity in the vicinity.
