It was reported that the Ebonyi Police Command has finally confirmed recovered the body of the Second Republic Senator, Dr  Offia Nwali, from a pond behind his house in his home town.

 According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP George Okafor who confirmed the report said Nwali’s corpse was found at the back of his compound in his home town in Abakaliki.

He said investigation is ongoing to ascertain if he was drown or killed. “We cannot establish whether he drowned inside the pond or whether he was killed but investigations have commenced to unravel the mystery behind his death.

“We have not made any arrest so far but we assure the citizens of the state that we would ensure that the matter is investigated to its logical conclusion,” he said.
