If you have received the pre recorded call from Kola Oyeyemi, seen the advertisement on tabloids and billboards, then you are most likely preparing to attend the Ignite forum holding this weekend in Lagos.

The much talked about event targeted at young people from all works of life will hold on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Lagos.

The event will kick off at 9AM. And, according to Kola Oyeyemi, of Chapel of Uncommon Grace, organisers of the forum, there is more to the forum than speeches and Sermons. ‘‘Youths with creative ideas are encouraged to send entries in a one page document to [email protected]. Short-listed entries will be given the opportunity to present their ideas on the day and the best idea will get an Endowment seed money to start the enterprise in addition to professional advice and mentoring’’.

‘‘A chat with this generation of young folks raises fundamental concerns about our future as a nation. Many have no sense of purpose or a clear reason for being. Many have very warped understanding of life and have chosen the path of destruction with the attendant consequences on the society.

Scheduled to perform is fast rising rapper MI whose remarkable career is an inspiration to many youths. Since releasing his album talk about it in December 2008, MI has moved from being an obscure rapper to one of the most relevant artistes in Nigeria and a bestselling act in his own right. The multitalented entertainer has gone on to amass scores of laurels; including three Hiphopworld awards, two awards at the MTV Music Video Awards and three awards from the Nigerian Music video awards . He is presently working on his second album as well as getting ready to take a management position at his record label- Chocolate City

Gospel Reggae artiste Buchi is one of the few gospel artistes in Nigeria who has over the years stayed true to the gospel genre.

Passionate about music, mentoring and Ministration, the university of Lagos graduate will join Poet Sage and Naturalz on stage this weekend.

Other facilitators include Motivational speaker Fela Durotoye, renowned evangelist Myles Munroe, speaker-entrepreneur Ghandi Olaoye and Convener Kola Oyeyemi.

The Ignite forum will be anchored by Holy Mallam.
