As the Elegant Stallion, Onyeka Onwenu formally flagged off her Inspiration for Change tour last week; she has reminded Nigerians that they have the capacity to make the country a beautiful place.

While on a visit to Classic and Beats FM – all in Lagos, Onyeka had a swell reception as On Air Personalities at the two radio stations, respectively known for their old and new school music made her walk down memory lane with her hit songs including One Love, Walk Right Back, Iyogogo, African Woman. Songs like Kosi and Maryam’s Peace contained in her latest effort, Legend were also given adequate airplay and thumbs up.

If the songs from Legend got loads of commendation from the broadcasters, Change Song and Run, Goodluck from Inspiration for Change, which is the reason for the tour, got a marvelous response from the studio audience.

Onyeka could not hide her excitement at the reception which “Nigeria at 50” (a song she did specially for Nigeria’s 50th independence celebration) also got from the studio audience, saying: “I was blown away with what happened in the studio. We all danced to the song. It was highlife at its best and modernized with rap and scintillating horns. I am convinced that Nigerians are ready for this expected change. I am excited. It seemed like all our discussions about change in Nigeria, the need to support Nigerian government and people in bringing about this change, all the optimism about the greatness of Nigeria in spite of our self-inflicted wounds had whipped up a certain patriotism and pride in our country, Nigeria.”

Beaming with smiles as she bade her hosts goodbye, Onyeka said: “Please, join me on www.inspirationforchangeng.com in praying for our dear country and for all Nigerians. We are a beautiful people. We are blessed. We will change for the better and we will make it. Let the change begin with you. Let it begin today. Go to the website and blog with me.”
