Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has stepped down as the General Overseer (GO) of the Redeemed Christian of God (RCCG) at the Annual Ministers Thanksgiving at Shimawa, in Ogun State.
Ahead of his 75th birthday coming up on March 2nd , he has named a new General Overseer (GO) in the person of Pastor J.O Obayemi.
Pastor Obayemi was the former Special Assistant to the General Overseer (SATGO) on Finance. Pastor Adeboye also appointed Pastor Adeyokunnu as church Treasurer, Pastor Johnson Odesola who was the Special Assistant on Administration and Personnel as the church Secretary.
The retired GO studied Mathematics at University of Nigeria Nsukka, and got his PhD in applied mathematics from the University of Lagos. He had worked as a lecturer in Mathematics at the universities of Lagos and Ilorin, before joining the ministry in 1984. He joined the Redeemed Christian Church in 1973.
