Port Harcourt-based lawyer Bisola Ajayi who was recently rescued from kidnappers says she owes her survival to Jesus.

Ajayi, 25, was whisked away by gunmen dressed in military outfit on October 4 at the entrance of her apartment in Rumuokurusi area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Narrating her ordeal, Ajayi said one of the gunmen suspected she had charm on her which made her not sustain bullet wounds as she was being kidnapped.

“One of them kept searching me for charms, but I told them Jesus saved me,” she said.

The lawyer further said the kidnappers intitially asked for N50 million before increasing it to N200 million.

She said they became apprehensive at the publicity her abduction generated and resolved that killing her the next day was the only way to guarantee their safety.

“They planned to move me into the swamp to kill me yesterday night. The police just came right in time because all I could do was to pray,” she said.

Her mother Ngozi Ajayi is a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Ajayi thanked Governor Nyesom Wike, Commissioner of Police Joseph Mukan and President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Olumide Akpata for the roles they played in her rescue.
